Big Changes!

 As many of you know I have bought the Circus Train Miniatures, Carnival Train Miniatures and Freddie Daw kits and figures.

The new site will change as we get thru all the boxes etc. I are working on cleaning the molds and then producing the kits again. I have made changes to the kits in hopes they will be easier to build.

I am also working on the Carnival wagons that for the most part were never put out to everyone. They will be coming along slowly.

I have a full time job that I still work to support my hobby so new wagons and parts will come out slowly. I am hoping to keep your interest and look forward to making these iconic kits available again.

Steel Arena Update

One coat of paint is on one more to come. This is turning out fantastic I am very happy with the look and will start the inside soon.

Chocks for the train in HO scale

Working on these little numbers, they are a much needed detail for the train. I will be using some stain to gain the color that I want. Lefts, Rights and Naked Ladies.

More Elephants Coming Soon!

Im working on a few more elephants for the show. With the help of some photos and a drawing from Dom I am working on the "Old King Cole".

Concession Stands

Working on another group of stands for a customer and also for my own show. Its good to be back in the shop again. The bottom picture is my popcorn almost ready for the midway.

New Project Started

This is my next big project, I have always wanted to build the car shops main building in Baraboo. This will not be an exact replica of the building but close to it. I am using it as the center of my winter quarters diorama. I am building a winter quarters for the C & R Circus the way I want it to look and not as a copy of any other winter quarters. I will try and use some of the building that I have pictures of from other winter quarters that I like and incorporate them in mine.

The picture is the prototype pieces. that I have to make sure the measurements work for my space. the bottom picture is what I am starting with as a guide.

A couple more items I am working on for the C & R Circus. I need a few more however the rest of them will be painted brown and dirty. I also have these for sale as a kit or can be built. Contact me at christophergrieder@yahoo.com for information and timelines.

Sitting here tonight working on putting some pictures together for my Grandfathers Celebration of Life tomorrow has been hard. All the model building and Circus in my life is because of him and his encouragement.

The C & R Circus is named after me (Chris) and my grandfather Roy. Many things were learned from Grandpa such as, Take your time, work neat, build to scale, measure twice before you cut and learn from your mistakes.

The best part was enjoying the many hours in the workroom with Grandpa learning many traits, skills and respect I will always have and use.

I truly have something that is unique and was built by me and my grandfather.

Website Going Away!

I will be closing down the website crcircus.com very soon. I have had problems with it and have desided to close it and updating the blog more often.

Two new "Georgia Buggies" fresh from the paint shop. We have also added the bull rings to the ticket wagons. I think we had a good day of model building.

Cracker Jack!

New Ticket wagons for the midway. We had some water damage to the original 3 wagons that are part of the masthead of this blog so we decided to replace them.
